Specialised Woodworking (of Coventry) ltd was founded over 25 years ago by Mark Williams, the director of the company. A qualified Carpenter and Joiner, who then studied a Furnuture Design Craft and Management Course at Bucks College High Wycombe. Soon after graduating he was commissioned to manufacture work benches for the university and his old school in Coventry. After a spell in teaching he received commisions from teaching colleagues in schools throughout the country.
Experience of teaching means that the package we provide is based on the knowledge and experience of both the manufacturer and end user of the product.
Based in the Midlands, the company has grown and supplied thousands of quality workbenches both standard and bespoke to the educational sector, industry and private individuals throughout the UK and abroad. Our workbenches have been used in the making of documentaries for example the Richochet production of the More 4 series Monty Don's Real Craft (broadcast in 2014). We have also supplied Help for Heroes with workbenches to be used for rehabilitation.
Within industry we have supplied workbenches for multinationals such as Yamaha through to individuals such as professional jewellers
Being a small company means we remain focused on the core values regarding apprenticeships, training and craftmanship of the finished products.
